Sistahs’ Ca Nect Inc. was established after sensing a desperate need for sisterhood among young adolescent women. Statistics show that healthy female relationships promote a sense of belonging and cohesiveness among young women and their peers.

Our program provides girls with planned exercises, group discussions and lectures to create a framework to explore their values, self acceptance, healthy choices and career plans for the future. We teach our girls valuable life skills and ways to help them discover their own inner strength and power to overcome life’s many challenges.

Our Purpose

Sistahs' Ca Nect, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c) (3) organization that provides mentorship to girls ages 12-18, specifically designed to address each girl's unique characteristics and challenges that young women face in today's society.  Facilitators meet weekly at various schools where group sessions are held.  The girls are arranged in a circle of love as we discuss topics such as: self-esteem, confidence, peer pressure, bullying, sex, abstinence, drugs, careers, etc.  
The purpose of the group sessions is to provide a safe and cohesive atmosphere for girls to express themselves, be heard and feel a sense of belonging.  Our program places emphasis on cultural, mental emotional development and self-esteem with a strong concentration in business and career preparation.  We believe when our girls feel confident, they are most likely to restrain from negative behavior and do well in school, as measure of future success.

Our program services include Psycho-Educational Groups, Career Preparation Workshops and Community Service Projects; all of which are facilitated by professional and certified educators.  Some of our affiliated schools are: Miami Norland Senior; Westview Middle; and Lake Stevens Middle, located in the Miami- Dade County area. Participants in our program are ages 12-18 who are selected based on self-interest, and/or identified by school personnel based on a number of risk factors including low/failing grades, test scores, disruptive behavior, and/or excessive absences.  In addition to servicing the academic community, Sistahs’ Ca Nect extends its' services to females ages 12-18 outside the public education system.

Psycho Educational Groups

We facilitate weekly topic based groups for adolescent girls ages 12-18, which are interactive and designed to promote self-esteem.  We teach girls valuable educational and life skill lessons, and ways to tap into their own inner strength and power to overcome life's many challenges.  The group creates a safe environment that is conducive to learning, sharing and connecting. The groups are facilitated by Master Level professionals who are skilled and knowledgeable in dealing with relevant life issues that are common to our girls.

Community Service

We create opportunities for teen girls to get involved and make a difference in their communities. Our girls are active participants in establishing and executing community service projects and activities. Our goal is to engage girls in experiences within the community that will deepen their understanding of social issues, strengthen their commitment, and inspire their dedication to caring for others and improving the communities.
